Mutare is home to 188,243 inhabitants and is Zimbabwe’s third largest city. It is the administrative and financial center of Manicaland Province. Mutare is also a tourist center, being located within the Eastern Highlands. Mutare boasts not only of this unique geography, rather it has a diverse array of cultures, language, tradition and history. Most of the town’s residents are of Shona ethnicity. Mutare’s residents mainly engage in farming, cattle-keeping, and mining.
